By BBN Staff: Tonight the people of Belize will experience the first countrywide curfew in light of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Across the country from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. will be marked as curfew hours.

Every night at a quarter to 8 p.m. the fire station in San Ignacio will sound its sirene three times to warn the public.

Those found to be in violation of the curfew may face a $5,000 fine or two years in prison.
