By BBN Staff: The fourth case of COVID-19 has been confirmed.

He is a fifty-five-year-old man employed by the Belize City Council but resides in San Ignacio, Cayo.

Mayor of San Ignacio and Santa Elena, Earl Trapp, called the Love FM local talk show this morning indicating that the person who tested positive had gone to do business at the town council earlier this week.

According to Mayor Trapp, before this case, residents were not taking this virus seriously.

However, there is already a shift in their attitude.

Trapp revealed that his region has been seriously affected by unemployment because of the COVID-19 pandemic as it is a popular tourist destination.
