Police officer charged for fatal traffic accident

By BBN Staff: Police officer, Elton Elijio, has been charged with manslaughter by negligence, causing death by careless conduct, negligent grievous harm and failure to provide a specimen.

The fatal traffic accident occurred on Sunday evening in Dangriga.

Police investigations revealed that Elijio was driving his Toyota 4Runner across George Price Drive when the motorcycle driven by Giovanni Villafranco collided into the passenger side door of the 4Runner.

Traveling with Villafranco at the time was Jadeed Johnson.

Villafranco was later transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he died.
