Quality Poultry Products donates chickens to frontline workers in national Covid-19 response

Posted: Wednesday, April 8, 2020. 3:59 pm CST.

By BBN Staff: There is no doubt that the COVID-19 outbreak has caused major economic strain in Belize from the decrease in revenue to people losing their jobs but in the height of the crisis, Belize’s business sector has stepped up for Belizeans. Bus companies are running at a loss simply to get essential service personnel to work, some but not all banks are unanimously waiving fees and payments for their customers, grocery stores are reducing the risk of their customers’ exposure to Covid-19 by allowing shoppers to send their shopping lists via Whatsapp requiring only that the customer pick up the items instead of going into the store.

Breaking Belize News (BBN) has confirmed that Quality Poultry Products (QPP) has joined the ranks of those companies doing what they can in the national fight against Covid-19 by offering free chickens to front line workers from the Ministry of Health and the Belize Police Department, Belize Defense Force and Belize Coast Guard. We have confirmed that the company has distributed coupons to these entities for them to disseminate to those workers, who are bearing the brunt of the risk by going to work in the height of the crisis, often interacting with members of the public, possibly endangering their own wellbeing.

BBN applauds QPP for its initiative and joins the company in saluting all of Belize’s frontline workers.
