By BBN Staff: A Belize Defense Force (BDF) soldier who is showing flu-like symptoms and was tested for Covid-19 has been placed in self-isolation.
On April 6th the soldier reportedly began to exhibit signs and symptoms of the virus while working in Belize City. He was tested by the Ministry of Health but the results are not in as yet.
As a result and as a precautionary measure he was placed in self-isolation at Price Barracks.
In an interview with our colleagues at KREM, Commander of the BDF, Brigadier General Steven Ortega, revealed that 18 other soldiers that were working with the tested soldier have also been placed under quarantine.
The 18 soldiers are held in a separate area from the soldier who is in self-isolation.
