By BBN Staff: Today, the Alaia Foundation made a generous donation to help medical staff in their fight to manage and contain COVID-19 on San Pedro and Caye Caulker.

Founders of the non-profit organization, Jasmine Hartin and Andrew Ashcroft announced the procurement of 750 face masks.

“We wanted to do the right thing, help our essential workers out and do what we can to flatten the curve,” Hartin said.

The N95 filter respirator masks will be shared among the San Pedro Health Care Staff (500), the isolation and Health Center in Caye Caulker (200) and the Hope Haven Food Bank Staff (50).

The Alaia Foundation works through 3 key development pillars—Education, Health and disaster relief which provide solutions that support and amplify the country of the Belize. The face masks are part of a larger set of initiatives the foundation is taking to benefit the people of Ambergris Caye and Caulker.
