No rapid testing in Belize, be careful with diagnosis: DHS

Posted: Friday, April 10, 2020. 3:01 pm CST.

By Aaron Humes: Director of Health Services Dr. Marvin Manzanero says Belize is not yet doing any rapid testing in Belize.

He also stressed that those who are screened for COVID-19 are not yet in the clear if their tests are negative. Quarantine will be for 14 days in the first instance and will likely be extended to 21 days and you must be cleared by the Ministry of Health.

If symptoms crop up before the end of quarantine you must report to be tested.

As for reports of false negatives in testing, there is a possibility of improper swabbing procedures or also that the virus has hidden in the body
