US Embassy organizes repatriation flight for US citizens

The Government of Belize in conjunction with the U.S. Embassy is organizing a repatriation exercise for persons who may have become displaced in Belize due to COVID-19. Special arrangements have been made for a flight to:

Destination: Houston, Texas, United States of America

Airline: United Airlines.

Travelers must make their own bookings with United Airlines.

www.united.com

Date: Thursday, April 16, 2020

Time: 3:28 p.m.

Persons who are currently in Belize and who wish to return to their country of residence are asked to fill out an application form at the link below:

https://forms.gle/YWybE8dJD4nym3ZS7

This information must be completed and submitted by or for anyone hoping to board the flight.

Travelers are reminded that they are responsible for their travel documents and for covering all expenses for this exercise and must meet necessary requirements from the Department of Immigration and Ministry of Health.

Additional information will follow in the coming week. For inquiries, please contact 614 7582 between 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and provide your name and number and/or email.

The Government says that it is taking all necessary health precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

All persons wishing to travel must, therefore, be cleared by the Ministry of Health and follow the outlined transportation procedures.

This effort is made in the interest of stranded persons who are well and wish to return home and in the interest of Belizeans by minimizing the risk of additional responsibilities for the Belizean health system.
