UK Prime Minister released from hospital, continues to recover from COVID-19

By BBN Staff: United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson was released from the hospital today but continues his battle with COVID-19.

The BBC reports that Johnson was admitted to the hospital 10 days after testing positive for COVID-19 and spent a week hospitalized before being released. Johnson,55, spent three of those nights in intensive care, as his symptoms worsened.

An official statement issued following his release noted that he will not immediately return to work and will continue his recovery at his home.

During his hospitalization, Johnson released a video appealing to his people to adhere to quarantine measures, as authorities in the UK fight desperately to get the outbreak under control.

The BBC also reported that as of Saturday, April 11, the UK had over 10,000 COVID-19-related deaths, with over 730 occurring on Saturday alone.
