By BBN Staff: Belize is currently experiencing a heatwave; therefore, the Department of Rural Development reminds the villagers who are heavily affected by this dry season to conserve water.
Villages will begin to experience low water pressure due to the water resources running low or going dry.
As a means of conserving water, the Department encourages villagers to refrain from fulling large pools, washing vehicles, allowing the water to run while brushing teeth, taking long showers, etc.
The department says that rural community development officers are readily available to assist in providing necessary information, advice and services where necessary. The officers can be contacted via mobile phone and email (listed below). Other services are also available online for those who have internet access.
