AG reminds public of nationwide curfew

By BBN Staff: On the Ask the Experts show today, Attorney General Micheal Peyreffite urged the public to abide by the regulations of the State of Emergency.

In particular, Peyrefitte urged everyone to be mindful that the nationwide curfew is in effect daily from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Nobody should be on the street or in any public space with exceptions for police officers, BDF, coast guard, customs, immigration, front line health care provider working for Ministry of Health that is ON duty. The Attorney general said that these persons providing essential services can be out after 8 p.m. ONLY if they are on duty.

As the law stands now, the financial institutions are allowed to open from 8 a.m. to 12 daily. However, Peyreffitte informed that beginning Friday, the banks will be allowed to open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Employers of essential services were also urged to work by shifts so as to avoid their employees being on the road during curfew hours.
