Police officers who recorded sex tape officially charged

By BBN Staff: Three police officers who forced a man and woman to have sex and recorded it have all been charged in the Belize City Magistrates court.

According to police, Corporal Jason Shaw, 46, Constable Leslie Martinez, 38, and Constable Anthony Villamil, 20, all answered to a charge of “Willful Oppression,” on Friday, April 10.

Al three officers plead not guilty and were granted bail in the sum of $1,000 and a surety of the same amount. The case was adjourned to Tuesday, July 14th, 2020.

Police say that the complainant was in an abandoned building with a female companion on April 5, when the three officers entered the and asked if they were having sex. One of the officers then told them to continue and used his phone to record the act. When the video began circulating, Commissioner of Police Chester Williams vowed that the officers responsible would be found and held accountable.
