Ministry of Human Development assists families around the country

By BBN Staff: The Ministry of Human Development’s food assistance program has been receiving calls from Belizeans all over the country.

The way the program operates, residents call the Ministry of Human Development on the numbers provided on their food assistance flyer.

The resident provides his/her name and phone number. Thereafter, a representative from the Ministry calls and gives a reference number to the resident.

The resident can use that reference number at a specific grocery store nearby to get food supplies.

BBN spoke to a recipient of the program who thanked the Ministry for the support.

“ I submitted my name and my number. Like 2 days after, they called me and gave me the number and  I went to the store and got a box of food supply. Thank them very much,” the resident said.

The phone lines remain open and the Ministry continues to assist needy families.
