Catholic Church announces funeral arrangements for the late Bishop Emeritus Dorrick Wright

By BBN Staff: Last week, Belize learned of the passing of Roman Catholic Bishop Dorrick Wright, today the Catholic diocese has announced Wright’s funeral arrangements.

Wright’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 22, starting with a mobile procession at 9 a.m. which will drive past the Catholic churches in Belize City. The funeral service will be held at the Holy Redeemer Cathedral at 10:00 a.m. and he will be laid to rest in the Cathedral’s garden following the service.

As social distancing measures are still in place, the Catholic Diocese says that a memorial mass will be held at a later date, which will include simultaneous masses at all parishes.

The Catholic Diocese also thanked the public for the support and prayers during this time and encourages everyone to stay safe and continue practicing social distancing.
