Sixth consecutive day with no confirmed case of COVID-19 in Belize

Today makes the sixth consecutive day that Belize has had no confirmed case of COVID-19.

The Office of the Director of Health Services informed that given a flagged concern of a possible case at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, the officials waited for the test results of the patient. Those results returned and were negative for COVID-19.

“The understanding of this desk is that the reason why the patient was intubated and the reason for his admission at KHMH differs from what has been reported elsewhere,” a statement from the office stated.

The office said that the KHMH may release a separate note on this matter.

In addition, the Director of Health Services urges everyone to wait for the official sources of information as they cannot be caught up into providing the public with false, incomplete or misleading information as was the case today.

A total of 159 tests have been done since the Ministry last identified a positive case in Belize. Samples from the possible case at KHMH and the other samples processed by the lab today are not included as yet in the latest infographic report released by the Ministry of Health. As a result the infographic report released today has the same numbers as the report presented yesterday.
