Farmer shot on his farm

By BBN Staff: Shortly after 7 o’clock last night a man was shot on the Calla Creek/Santa Rosa Road in Bullet Tree Falls, Cayo.

He has been identified as Rafael Vasquez, 50.

Police visited him at the San Ignacio Community Hospital where they observed him with three gunshot wounds.

He told police that whilst alone at his farm on the Calla Creek/Santa Rosa Road he was approached by a Hispanic man who asked if he could take him to the back road that leads into Guatemala.

Vasquez declined and as a result the man took out a firearm and fired three shots towards him
