Councilor Candice Pitts opens a soup kitchen in Mesop!

Posted: Thursday, April 23, 2020. 7:35 pm CST.

By BBN Staff: Belize City Councilor, Dr. Candice Pitts, has been busy at work for the people of Mesopotamia.

She recently launched a sewing factory in that constituency and yesterday she took to social media to announce that she has launched a soup kitchen in light of the COVID-19 outbreak.

She posted, “We take great pleasure in announcing the opening of the Mesopotamia Soup Kitchen!”

She added, “The mandatory quarantine we face currently will prevent us from having a centralized location. But, starting Monday, April 27th, at noon, we will deliver cooked meals 5 days per week to the elders most in need and to residents in Mesopotamia who lack the wherewithal to cook their food.”

According to Dr. Pitts, after the period of quarantine a physical location for the soup kitchen will be established.
