Posted: Friday, April 24, 2020. 7:48 am CST.

The National Meteorological Service of Belize says that hot and dry conditions will continue countrywide, especially for inland areas.

The 24-hour forecast calls for mostly sunny skies with cloudy spells today and partly cloudy skies tonight. No rainfall is expected except for the chance of an isolated thunderstorm over the Maya Mountains this afternoon.

Today’s temperature highs will range from 91 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to 106 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 90 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills. Tonight’s temperature lows will range from 82 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to 74 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 70 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills.

The chance of spontaneous bush and forest fires remains high. Residents, particularly those in inland areas, are advised to stay out of direct sunlight as much as possible and keep hydrated.

Winds will be blowing East-Southeast between 10-20 knots and the sea state will be moderate.

High tide will come in at 10:21 a.m. and low tide will occur at 5:29 p.m.

The sun will set at 6:11 p.m. and the moon will rise at tomorrow at 6:38 a.m.
