Posted: Saturday, April 25, 2020. 11:59 am CST.

By BBN Staff: Volunteers from Cristo Rey Village have worked diligently in an effort to mitigate the fires affecting surrounding communities.

The men took their machetes, blowers, water pumps, rakes and water and worked tirelessly to bring the fire under control.

The men and the Cristo Rey Village Council  were given food and water during their hard work.

The men also went to Santa Elena Town to douse the fires with water.

The volunteers and council is calling on the public to cease the burning.
