Deaths due to COVID-19 reach 200,000 worldwide

Posted: Saturday, April 25, 2020. 8:16 am CST.

By BBN Staff: As of 6 o’clock this morning there have been over 2.8 million cases of COVID-19 worldwide.

Just over 800,000 cases have been listed as recovered.

Unfortunately almost 200,000 deaths have been recorded worldwide.

When we break down the number of cases that end in death we note that the United States, Spain and Italy account for almost half of worldwide deaths.

The United States which has recorded over 900,000 cases has recorded 50,000 deaths.

Spain which has recorded over 200,000 cases has seen a death rate of about 20,000.

Italy with under 200,000 cases has seen over 25,000 deaths.

As these numbers continue to climb, we hope that in Belize the reverse occurs and that more of the strict quarantine measures can be softened.
