1 more person recovered from COVID-19, leaving 10 Belizeans with the virus

By Aaron Humes: The news continues to be encouraging concerning the presence of COVID-19 cases in Belize.

As of 3 p.m. this afternoon, 936 cases have been screened and the number of positive cases remains at 18. Deaths remain at 2 and six cases have seen patients declared recovered leaving ten Belizeans with the virus.

This is the 13th consecutive day with no new cases reported.

36 persons remain ‘under investigation.

This weekend the Ministry of Health has been looking mainly at health care workers exposed to COVID-19 on the job and some secondary and tertiary contacts.

The countdown continues to a full month without new cases which would signal an end for Belize to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tomorrow the National Assembly debates how long to extend the current state of emergency which expires this week
