Bowen and Bowen donates hospital beds; mattresses and masks to Ministry of Health

By BBN Staff: Bowen & Bowen and Companies (B&B) has pledged support to the Ministry of Health (“MOH”) and all Belizeans through a donation of much needed medical supplies.

The company says that tomorrow, they will deliver to the MOH 20 hospital beds with mattresses and 5,000 surgical masks.

The CEO / President of Bowen & Bowen, Ltd, Michael H. M. Bowen, also advised that they are awaiting the arrival of one thousand PPEs and one thousand face shields, both of which are vital for the protection of the front-line healthcare workers.

Additionally, Bowen and Bowen is donating 10,000 COVID-19 Testing Reagents, which is a critical component in the fight against COVID-19, and eight AMV70 Ventilators. These are to arrive May 8, 2020 and May 15, 2020, respectively.

Bowen expressed that the donation of these items, valued at almost BZ $500,000 is part of the company’s support to Belize and the entire health sector. He advised that the donation of these supplies was made possible by the commitment of the company’s 1200+ valued employees and the support of its loyal customers and consumers.

Its mission of ‘Pursuing Excellence for a Stronger Belize’ is the guiding principle of this donation.

Bowen stated, “It’s painful to see Belizeans feeling anxious and heartbreaking to know how much this is hurting our country. We hope this donation helps the heroic efforts of our front-line healthcare workers, and their tireless efforts to ensure the well-being of all Belizeans.”

Director of Health Services, Marvin Manzanero explained that these items will be put to immediate use to support the fight against COVID-19, and they will continue to be used in the service of the Belizean public after this initial crucial period has passed.

Minister of Health, Pablo Marin has expressed his gratitude for the contribution made by Bowen & Bowen Ltd. and acknowledges that such an action falls in line with the World Health Organization’s call for an ‘all of government, all of society’ approach to the response.

Bowen & Bowen Ltd. urges Belizeans to continue working together, supporting the efforts of the Ministry of Health, to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and safeguard the health of all Belizeans.
