By BBN Staff: Today, the Ambassadors and Representatives of International Organizations accredited in Belize, through the Office of the Dean, made a donation of BZ$12,000.00 dollars to the assistance program managed by the Belize Red Cross, in order to support its efforts in the context of the complicated financial situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The Office of the Dean expresses its appreciation for the good offices of the Belize Red Cross for the efficient, transparent and impartial disbursement of resources. It also sincerely expresses its recognition to each and every one of the Ambassadors and Representatives of International Organizations in the country who, in a remarkable show of support, empathy and solidarity, have financially contributed to help the Belizean population,” a statement from the Diplomatic corps said.
The diplomatic corps include members of Embassies of Brazil, Costa Rica, Cuba, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Japan, Mexico (Dean), Panama, Republic of China (Taiwan), United Kingdom, United States of America, Venezuela; Delegation of the European Union; Inter-American Development Bank; Organization of American States; Pan American Health Organization; United Nations Development Programme; United Nations High Commission for Refugees and United Nations Children’s Fund.
