By BBN Staff: Earlier today we reported that a decomposing body was found inside a home in Corozal.
The deceased person has since been identified as American national, Kenneth Winfield Stockton, 58.
He was found at 12:50 p.m. on Almond Tree Street which is the south end area of the district.
A strong smell was coming from his two storey cream and white cement house.
His body was found inside the bedroom and he was observed in a sitting position on a couch.
He was in an advances state of decomposition.
Nevertheless his wife, Maria Estella Stockton, 66, was able to identify him.
Initial investigations reveal that the deceased Stockton last spoke to his wife on Saturday.
He was last seen alive on Monday by his care taker.
He was reportedly suffering from chronic liver complications and had a severe cirrhosis for which he was taking blood transfusions at the Northern Medical Plaza.
