By BBN Staff: Primary School teachers who need Continued Professional Development (CPD) training hours can now apply for two online courses being offered by the Ministry of Education, with more workshops coming online soon.

According to Dr. Neulin Villanueva, Deputy Chief Education Officer at the Ministry of Education, the first course is entitled “Thriving in uncertain times: Making your wellbeing a priority,” which covers several areas of wellness mental emotional physical and financial; and the other is on Digital Learning online platforms, editing and publishing, and transitioning to online learning. Each of these six-week courses is worth 25 CDP hours.

“Teachers who are not able to do these programs…we have a list of preapproved CPD courses on the website as well…Outside of that if a teacher finds a particular course that they would like to do but they don’t know if it’s appropriate or it will be accredited we’re asking them to email TEDS (Teacher Education Development Services),” Villanueva said.

She explained that the ministry would need to check the provider and the content material and asked that teachers allow for three weeks for the investigation.
