By BBN Staff: Attorney General Michael Peyrefitte, speaking on today’s session of Ask the Experts, said that under the state of emergency regulations being signed into law today, wearing a mask will now be a requirement for all Belizeans leaving their house.

“If you are on the street and not wearing a mask you are committing an offense,” Peyrefitte said.

He noted that while the Government of Belize is relaxing some of the measures in the State of Emergency, the SOE still exists and as such social distancing and other preventative measures must be adhered to. This includes social distancing and respecting of the curfew period from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
