Police detain 60 people countrywide for violation of State of Emergency

By BBN Staff: The Commissioner of Police (COMPOL) informed that 60 people were charged countrywide for offenses under the Emergency Powers Regulations.

Twenty-four people were charged for being unable to provide reasonable excuse for movement outside of curfew period.

Fourteen people were charged for failing to practice social distancing.

Twelve people were charged for breach of curfew.

Three people were charged for failing to wear a cloth or other face mask or face (mouth) covering during transportation.

Three people were charged for restriction of movement outside of curfew.

One person was charged for transporting a passenger without a cloth or other face mask or face (mouth) covering.

Two people were charged for keeping business establishment open when required to be closed.

One person was charged for allowing a child to be in a public place.
