Clothing and cosmetic stores are allowed to reopen tomorrow says Compol Williams

Posted: Sunday, May 3, 2020. 10:55 pm CST.

By BBN Staff: Earlier tonight Commissioner of Police (Compol), Chester Williams, confirmed via Facebook that garment (clothing) and cosmetic stores will be allowed to reopen tomorrow, Monday, May 5th.

On Saturday, many clothing and cosmetic stores opened their doors across the country but the police in the various municipalities requested that the stores close their doors. This category of stores were not addressed in Statutory Instrument No. 65 that was passed on Friday last week, and as such there was much uncertainty this weekend as to whether they can reopen. The Facebook by Chester Williams clears this matter up for clothing and cosmetic store owners as well as their customers.

In his post, the Compol Williams encouraged shoppers to have fun while shopping but advised that face mask must be worn and social distancing maintained.

He ended by reminding Belizeans to work together “to make Belize Covid-19 free”.
