No contract officers are politically appointed says PM Barrow; total number to be provided

By BBN Staff: On Friday, Prime Minister Dean Barrow addressed several issues relating to COVID-19, financial assistance, and the Public Service Union in a virtual press conference.

Barrow also asserted to Belizeans that contract officers are not politically appointed.

“No contract officer is politically appointed. Contract officers are appointed on the basis of their suitability to do a particular job of work. In terms of the number of contract officers, I certainly don’t have the number at hand. But I’m sure that there is no difficulty at all to find out that number from the Ministry of the Public service and that can be made available,” Barrow said.
