Posted: Monday, May 11, 2020. 9:11 pm CST.

By BBN Staff: Yesterday Belama police detained and charged two Belize City men, Calvin Palma and Ryan Theus, for handling a number of stolen boat engines after the alleged thieves tried to sell the stolen goods. Today, police made another arrest in connection with another stolen engine which was recovered.

According to reports, police conducted a search at a home in the Ceasar Ridge area of Belize City today and found the last stolen boat engine after applying pressure on relatives of one of the detained men.

The engines were reportedly stolen from Driftwood Bay in Belize City and the other from Mile 6 on the George Price Highway.

The men were charged for two counts of handling stolen goods.

Police also charged Palma and Theus for being unable to provide a reasonable explanation or proof for movement outside of curfew.

Palma was also charged with failure to use a face mask or face (mouth) covering in public.
