Over 150 people arrested on Mother’s Day weekend

By BBN Staff: The Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams, informed that 156 people were arrested and charged for offenses under the emergency power regulations over the weekend.

Sixty-three people were charged for failure to wear a mask.

Fifty-one people were charged for breach of curfew.

Thirty people were charged for being unable to provide reasonable explanation or proof for movement outside of curfew period.

Eight people were charged for failure to practice social distancing.

One person was charged with cross district movement.

One person was charged for entering Belize illegally.

One person was also charged for failure to comply with Directive of Quarantine Authority.

Another person was also charged  for engaging in private practice when prohibited from doing so.
