Ministry of Health launches investigation into death of 5-month-old child

By BBN Staff: The Ministry of Health (MOH) confirmed today that it has launched an investigation into the sudden death of five-month-old Kynslee Caal.

The Ministry says that its investigation will hinge heavily upon the results of the post mortem examination, which is still pending and that the examination will be the factor that decides the steps taken going forward.

Director of Health Services Dr. Marvin Manzanero said that he has also requested a report from the southern health region on the issue as a part of the investigation.

Reports are that Caal received a vaccine shot on May 8 and afterward came down with a fever and respiratory problems. She was taken to the Independence Polyclinic, where she died yesterday evening.

Any correlation between the vaccine and her death will be a matter for the post mortem to conclude.
