Belize eases more restrictions; PM says easing not a free pass

Posted: Thursday, May 14, 2020. 10:31 am CST.

By Aaron Humes: As part of the national domestic tourism push, Prime Minister Dean Barrow has announced that pools, seas and rivers can be used subject to social distancing.

Also to reopen are hotel and other restaurants with outdoor seating, again subject to social distancing rules. Protocols are being written to guide restaurants with implementation of this ease.

Masks will no longer be needed for outdoor activities such as jogging  and cycling.

Churches will be open for ten persons but this may be increased in the coming weeks.

However, PM Barrow was clear in his message that the easing of restrictions is not a free pass.
