Belize is one of 12 countries currently COVID-19 free globally

By BBN Staff: Today, Prime Minister of Belize, Dean Barrow hosted a virtual press conference to update the nation on the COVID-19 situation in the country.

Barrow said that Belize has now reached 31 days without another reported case of COVID-19.

He explained that Belize is currently one of twelve countries in the entire world to be currently COVID-19 free.

Though Belize has managed to contain the first wave, Barrow says that there may be some relaxations but health officials have warned against re-opening rashly.

Barrow says that Belizeans will now be allowed to go to the river, sea and bathe in hotel pools while practicing social distancing.
