Lord Ashcroft COVID-19 relief fund continues to provide support to Belize

By BBN Staff: The Lord Ashcroft COVID-19 relief fund continues to provide financial assistance and donations to Belize.

The fund is administered by the Belize Bank and so far contributions have been made to the Belize Red Cross and Hope Haven.

Lord Ashcroft, in an interview on Open Your Eyes on Channel 5 this morning, says that he felt that people who could contribute financially and who have the wealth to do something should step forward and assist.

Ashcroft says that assisting with medical supplies, food, mask and gloves were the highest priorities.

In addition, Ashcroft says that he has met with, and been able to speak to, different people and understand their problems and needs.

While deciding on the beneficiaries of the fund, Ashcroft says that he has tried to avoid the involvement of politics and has enjoyed being able to assist with charities.
