Global COVID-19 cases over 4 million

By BBN Staff: The COVID-19 outbreak, which started in late December last year has become a global event that has affected 4.5 million people and killed over 300,000.

The latest update on the COVID-19 pandemic puts the total number of globally confirmed cases at 4, 577,109, with 305,285 dead. Meanwhile, a total of 1,728,000 people have recovered from the virus. The United States continues to lead global infections with over 1.4 million cases, almost 7 times the country with the second-most number of infections. There have been over 84,000 deaths in the US, while
318,000 have recovered.

Spain has the second most number of infections, recording over 274,000, with over 27,000 deaths and almost 189,000 recovered. Russia is third, with over 262,000 infections, 2,418 deaths, and over 58,000 recoveries.

Belize remains one of the only countries in the world that is currently COVID-19 free.
