Taiwan’s Rotary Club donates medical equipment

Posted: Friday, May 15, 2020. 4:41 pm CST.

By BBN Staff: In a brief handing-over ceremony held on May 13 in Taipei, Taiwan, the Ambassador of Belize to Taiwan, Diane Haylock, received 200 protective gowns and 5,000 medical gloves from the Rotary Club of Taipei Nanlung on Belize’s behalf.

The donation was an initiative of a Taiwanese-Belizean, Feng-Yi Chang.

Ambassador Haylock expressed her appreciation for the assistance Taiwan continues to extend to Belize.

She informed the group of five Rotarians that after the first COVID-19 case was confirmed in Belize, Taiwan was the first country to donate masks and other medical equipment to the Government of Belize.

After receiving the medical supplies, Haylock presented the Rotary members with certificates of appreciation, reiterating that the Government and people of Belize are honoured to have the support of Taiwan and appreciate the demonstration of friendship to Belize from the small island nation.
