Mexican Embassy launches new digital cultural program

By BBN Staff: The Embassy of Mexico in Belize is launching a new cultural program, so the people of Belize can still be able to enjoy the events from the comfort of their home through social media outlets, due to the current health situation caused by the outbreak and transmission of the COVID-19 virus, and in order to comply with the preventative measures stipulated by the local authorities.

Their first event, is the live poetry reading by the Mexican writer Xitlalitl Rodríguez from her book TIBURÓN [JAWS]. It will be transmitted through their Instagram account: www.instagram.com/embamexbelize starting at 6:00 PM, this evening.

Xitlalitl Rodríguez Mendoza (Guadalajara, Jalisco, 1982) is the author of the poetry books, Datsun, Catnip and Jaws [Tiburon], with which she won the National Poetry Prize Ignacio Manuel Altamirano in 2015.

She is currently a member of the National System of Creators of Art (event to be transmitted in Spanish).

Las Mujeres Flores by Eunice Adorno is the first exhibit on their virtual space: https://spatial.chat/s/MexicanCulturalInstitute-Belize on view from May 18th to June 30th.

Additionally, the Embassy will be presenting the installation piece, Los Monstruos no Vivian Aquí by the Mexican Visual Artist María Sosa on their Facebook page and Instagram.
