NEW BELMOPAN FIRE STATION TAKING SHAPE

By Delroy Cuthkelvin: Our mouth and nose are covered up these days (because of COVID-19), but our eyes are wide open; and we can see the stupendous sights and signs of development still progressing all around.

In the Nation’s Capital, Belmopan, the new fire station is taking shape. It’s a modest but spacious and aesthetically pleasing structure. Funded and constructed by the United States Government through its military’s Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM) as a donation to the Government and People of Belize, it replaces an old, dilapidated building that was demolished last year after the fire station was temporarily relocated to the NEMO Warehouse compound on Sir Colville Young Boulevard.

The new fire station is being built on the same site where the old building was located on Bliss Parade.
