By Aaron Humes: With the resignation of Karim Juan a few weeks ago, the National Elite Basketball League is looking for his replacement.
The League says the Commissioner is responsible for day to day administration leadership.
Its ideal candidate must have at least 5 years’ experience in sports or basketball management, or a degree in same; technological, public relations and capacity for leadership and direction.
He or she will inherit a league started in 2014 that abruptly canceled its season without a champion in April, but which has built a devoted fan base across the country and may welcome two new franchises next year.
The candidate will be asked to develop a strategic plan and pursue corporate sponsorship – not easy in the depressed post-COVID-19 era for businesses – and handle the league’s finances.
Interested? Send your cover letter, curriculum vitae and two reference letters to [email protected] by June 15.
The league projects its usual January 2021 return.
