Ministry of Health says random testing continues

By BBN Staff: Today on Ask the Experts, Director of Health Services, Dr. Marvin Manzanero is being joined by Esner Vellos, Director of the National Drug Abuse Control Council to discuss the links between heavy smokers and the implications on COVID-19.

May 31 is World ‘No Tobacco Day’ and Vellos will explain more during the show.

Manzanero says that the Ministry of Health continues conducting testing and a further 31 tests were conducted last night.

Testing continues on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

“Belize has a testing rate of 3.8 per million, interestingly twice the amount Mexico is reporting,” Manzanero said.

He further explained that Mexico’s testing rate stands at 1.8 per million, Honduras at 1.5 per million and Guatemala 1.8 per million.

Manzanero also mentioned the rapid increase in cases in Brazil saying that Brazil could become the next ground 0.
