By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Twelve-year-old Nathaniel Rian Arnold Matus is the Valedictorian of the 2020 graduating class of Sacred Heart Primary school.
Matus has been an outgoing child from pre-school when he delivered the welcome address that he memorized for preschool graduation.
Matus excelled throughout his primary school years obtaining first place from Infant 1 to Standard 6.
Last year, Nathaniel received the torch of excellence from the outgoing valedictorian 2019 for being Standard V overall top student.
“I am beyond grateful for the amazing eight years of my life attending Sacred Heart Primary School, and all of these memories including the challenges will be cherished and blossom in the temple known as my heart. I am proud to have achieved the foundation and roots of my education and hope for a bright future ahead,” Nathaniel told BBN.
Nathaniel says that his family was overwhelmed with joy and pride.
“They have been my support system I am grateful for that,” he expressed.
Nathaniel plans to further his education and become a productive citizen of Belize.
Nathaniel encourages other students to have faith and believe in yourself.
“As long as you have faith in God and yourself you can accomplish whatever you put your mind to. Never be afraid to be who you want to be and display with pride who you are. Never allow anyone to bring you down because you are unique and special just the way you are. With determination and perseverance you will always excel and be the best version of yourself,” he stated.
