By BBN Staff: The Belize Zoo and Tropical Education Center finally opened its doors to the public last weekend.
The Belize Zoo informed today that it will once again open its doors on Saturday and Sunday, May 30 and 31 only.
The Zoo will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with the last admission at 3:15 p.m.
Admission for this weekend will be $7 BZ for adults and $2 BZ for children (ages 3-12).
The Harpy Café will be open for takeaway food orders, and limited open-air dining by reservation (contact 625-3604).
All visitors must wear a mask and practice physical distancing of 6 feet at all times
There will be special, limited encounters with “Ranger” the Scarlet Macaw and “Lindo” the Jaguar at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. (contact 625-3604 for more details).
The Zoo’s latest book written by Founding Director, Sharon Matola entitled “Welcome to the Best Little Zoo in the World!” will be available for a special promotional price.
