Police accused of deadly accident in Camalote

By Aaron Humes: On Thursday evening we received information of a road traffic accident in the village of Camalote, Cayo District.

One person was hit and killed, and the incident involved police officers responding to a call in nearby Teakettle.

We understand that an Isuzu DMax, property of the Police Department, was being piloted by three officers around 11:30 Thursday night when upon reaching Miles 49 and 50 on the George Price Highway, the vehicle struck the single pedestrian. The driver reported he missed seeing the individual in time to prevent the mishap.

The officers are being questioned as part of police investigations.
