BTB waives Tour Guides license renewal fees and supporting requirements

Posted: Saturday, May 30, 2020. 9:34 am CST.

By BBN Staff: The Belize Tourism Board (BTB) says that it remains committed to working with stakeholders during this difficult time and as such waives the prescribed license fee for 2020 and all the supporting documents for all currently licensed tour guides.

“This waiver is only for the period June 1st to August 31st, 2020, and aims to alleviate some of the financial burden allowing tour guides to be able to quickly pick back up operations as travel resumes,” a statement from BTB noted.

All licensed tour guides are encouraged to take advantage of these temporary measures and submit your application early by:

Downloading the interactive 2020 Tour Guide Application form from the BTB website

Submitting the completed and signed form via email only to  [email protected]

As the BTB transitions to a paperless office environment, no hard copy applications will be accepted.

Only when the BTB confirms receipt of your application, should it be deemed received.

Please note that (i) all new tour guide applicants, (ii) guides who are not currently licensed and (iii) guides who apply after August 31, 2020 will be required to undergo the usual application process, i.e. submitting all application requirements and payment of the prescribed fee.  These can be downloaded here.

The BTB thanks everyone for their continued cooperation as we work together to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 crisis and rebound our tourism industry.
