By BBN Staff: According to Worldometer, the latest figure on COVID-19 cases stands at 6,194,887, with over 371,000 deaths and over 2.7 million recovered.

The United States continues to lead the number of global infections with over 1.8 million confirmed cases. Ongoing protests all over the US bring with it fears that the number could further escalate. The US has had over 2,000 new cases over the past 24 hours and over 105,000 total deaths. Brazil is the second-most affected country, with over 500,000 cases, of which, over 3,500 are new cases. Brazil has also seen over 28,000 deaths. Russia is the third-most hit country, with over 405,000 cases, of which, over 9,000 are new cases and over 171,000 deaths.

Belize is now at 48 days since its last reported case. The number of confirmed cases has not exceeded 18 and the country has only seen two casualties due to COVID-19. The extended period with no new cases has prompted the Government of Belize to further relax the restrictions imposed under the State of Emergency regulations.
