Over 75 people charged for violations of state of emergency regulations

By BBN Staff:  The Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams informed that over the weekend, 78 people were arrested and charged countrywide for various offenses under the Emergency Powers Regulations.

Forty people were charged for breach of curfew.

Fifteen people were charged with failing to wear a cloth mask or other face (mouth) covering while in public.

Fourteen people were charged for being unable to provide reasonable explanation or proof for movement outside of curfew.

Five people were charged for entering Belize illegally.

Four people were charged with failing to practice social distancing.
