Testing continues; Belize remains COVID-19 free

By BBN Staff:  The Ministry of Health continues to conduct testing and Belize currently remains Covid-19 free.

A further 45 samples were processed today and all returned negative.

Belize has now entered our 8th week since we last confirmed a case.

The Ministry continues to monitor the situation in the region.

Neighbouring Othon P. Blanco (includes Chetumal) up to midday today has 71 active cases and a total of 113 cases.

Guatemala reported a further 249 new cases with 8 deaths in the last 24 hours with a total now of 5,336 cases.

“Our surveillance mechanisms continue as we move along under new norms,” the office of the Director of Health Services said.
