Guyana to re-open schools on June 15

Posted: Friday, June 5, 2020. 8:12 pm CST.

By BBN Staff: Guyanese authorities have decided to re-open schools on June 15.

An article published on NationNews noted that the re-opening is for the preparation of revision classes and exams.

The Ministry of Education said that students sitting upcoming exams are asked to attend classes from June 15 as part of their preparation.

Only students preparing for those exams are required to attend classes.

But, classes will reportedly be held only 3 days per week and 4 hours daily.

The Ministry noted that the important dates for students will be the days of the exams.

In conducting this in line with health regulations, the authorities said that no more than 15 students will be allowed to be seated in a class at any one time and they must be seated 6 feet apart.

The schools are urged to have handwashing stations and floor markings for social distancing.
