Moist and unstable weather to last into the weekend

The National Meteorological Service of Belize says that moist and unstable weather conditions are expected to continue for the next couple of days.

The 24-hour forecast says that skies will be cloudy with sunny breaks today becoming mostly cloudy tonight. A few showers, periods of rain and isolated thunderstorms will continue mostly over northern and central areas this morning and then again tonight.

A flood warning is in effect for low lying and flood-prone areas and communities near rivers and streams.

Today’s temperature highs will range from 86 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to 92 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 78 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills. Tonight’s temperature lows will range from 78 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to 74 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 70 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills.

Winds will be gusty, blowing Southeast at 10-20 knots, becoming West-Southwest at 10-20 knots and the sea state will be rough.

A small craft caution for gusty winds and rough seas, especially near heavy showers and thunderstorms*

High tide will come in at 9:00 a.m. and low tide occur at 4:26 p.m.

The sun will set at 6:25 p.m. and the moon will rise today at 6:34 p.m.
